An Announcement About COVID-19

BCP Announcement on COVID-19

Like every American, Beaumont Community Players (BCP) has been monitoring the situation surrounding the National Emergency caused by the COVID-19 virus. As an anchor organization for Arts and Culture in SE Texas, we feel it is our obligation to lead our community in curbing the spread of this infectious disease. To that end, BCP will be pausing all activities at the Betty Greenberg Center for Performing Arts beginning immediately through April 12th. That includes all rehearsals, classes and scheduled meetings. Our production of Godspell slated to begin April 3rd will be postponed until May 8th. Our production of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang will be moved to open our 2020-2021 season in September. KIDmunity will still audition in May and begin in June as scheduled and details will be posted on our website as they become available.

Ticket holders for Godspell will be contacted and rescheduled or given credit for future performances in the coming weeks. Subscribers and patrons with tickets to both productions will also be rescheduled and receive additional tickets to compensate for any lost performances. We encourage any patrons that cannot reschedule to donate their tickets to help BCP offset the loss of revenue caused by this emergency.

By taking this action following the recommendations of our federal and state health organizations and practicing social distancing we at BCP believe we can help stem the spread of the virus and we encourage all organizations and individuals to do the same. Now is not the time for division and panic but is the time for cooperation and patience. Beaumont Community Players will continue to lead and evaluate the situation every day and will make any future decisions as facts warrant. As we face these challenges together please be safe, wash your hands and follow the guidelines of the Centers for Disease Control available here.
